TENSION
19 sts and 24 rows to 10cm over patt, using 4.50mm needles.
BACK
Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 58 (70-82-94) sts.
Beg rib – 1st row (RS) – K2, * P2, K2, rep from * to end.

With RS facing and using 4.50mm needles, knit up 19 (22-22-24) sts evenly along right front neck, knit across sts from right sleeve, back and left sleeve stitch holders – dec 1 (3-5-3) st/s evenly across back, then knit up 19 (22-22-24) sts evenly along left front neck = 78 (86-86-94) sts.
Work 5 rows rib as for Back, beg with a 2nd row. Cast off loosely.
RIGHT FRONT BAND
With RS facing and using 4.50mm needles, knit up 62 (70-82-90) sts evenly along right front edge and side edge of neckband.
Work 3 row rib as for Back, beg with a 2nd row.
4th row – Rib 4 (4-5-4), cast off 2 sts, * rib 11 (13-12-14), cast off 2 sts, rep from * 3 (3-4-4) more times, rib 4 (4-5-4).
5th row – Rib 4 (4-5-4), turn, cast on 2 sts, turn, * rib 11 (13-12-14), turn, cast on 2 sts, turn, rep from * 3 (3-4-4) times, rib 4 (4-5-4) = 5 (5-6-6) buttonholes.
Work 2 rows rib. Cast off loosely in rib.
LEFT FRONT BAND
Work to correspond with Right Front Band, omitting buttonholes.
FINISHING
Using mattress st seam, join side and sleeve seams. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
